Windows 10: DirectX 11.2 installed instead of DirectX 12

This fix might not work for everyone but here is how it goes:


  1. Check if the graphics card you are using supports the new DX system, for that contact the manufacturer website. 
  2. Then download and install the latest drivers from the MANUFACTURER website and not the support site for your PC. I use Dell Inspiron 3543 with NVIDIA 820M, I installed both the intel and NVidia drivers, at the same time, then just for curiosity checked DX version with dxdiag. Before it was showing 11.2 and now it is 12. So u may try the fix, if it works, do comment.
