How to view Youtube in background - Android

Are wondering why you would run YouTube in background? It is a site for watching videos. Videos are never fun to see in background. Right?
Now imagine that you are playing video music from YouTube. You also want to chat or do other things on your phone at the same time you are "watching" the music. If you go to do this other things, your YouTube will pause and you cannot continue listening until you return to the YouTube app. Frustrating isn't it?

Think of this other situation. You are on your Android watching a YouTube video. Suddenly, a notification from WhatsApp or from your email pops up. Now you open the notification and your YouTube video is automatically paused. When you get back, you have lost the whole link in the video that makes you repeat watching part of the video. Again frustrating.

Now you seriously wish that you need to run YouTube in background isn't it? Don't worry, i'm here to make your wish come true. So lets see how we can run YouTube in background on our androids.
The YouTube app does not allow you to continue listening to the video once you have exited the app. We can get past this by downloading apps that act as YouTube portals from Google Play.

To do this, open Google Play on your Android device and search for the app NextVid.

The full name of the app you need is called ‘NextVid – YouTube player’ you will only need the free version of the app for this to work. Once you have found the app, download and install it.

When the app has been installed, open it and search for the YouTube video you want to watch.
Start playing the video. Then hit the android back button to get to the home screen of your android. You will notice that there is a notification that has popped up on your notification bar.

The music from YouTube is still playing. You can now view other apps on the android while the YouTube music still playing.
Note: To return to the NextVid app, simply bring in the notifications bar and select the NextVid option.
There you go, now you can run YouTube in background on your android. If you are facing any difficulties with this, remember the comments box is all yours. Use it!
