Let's say that you have created a PDF file and you do not have the orijnal source document and you just want to make some minor changes like change your email address to a new one or something before publishing it on the net. For this minor changes you can use the online PDF editors such as PDFescape and CutePDF Editor which contain almost all functions that you need to edit PDF files.

Editing PDFs by converting them to an editable format

Converting a PDF to an editable format like .docx (for MS Word) and .xlsx (for MS Excel) depending on the contents of the PDF allows you to get full access to the editing of the text, pictures, charts and other elements. This also allows you to format the PDF completely the way you want it.
If you have a PDF that is mostly text, but also contains charts, images and tables, you can use Nitro PDF to convert this file to a word file and then edit it.
You can also use advance tools like PDF XChange to directly view a PDF and edit contents of the PDF directly into the PDF page. This also allows you to alter images, text and other elements easily just like a word processing or spreadsheet software.
